RedCard
Payment software integrated into your businessThe RedCard Payment System is a suite of software providing online authorisation and settlement functions to organisations accepting payment cards for purchase of goods and services.
RedCard processes fuel cards, electronic gift cards, ETU, DCC and other transaction types.
In a typical configuration, RedCard communicates with a merchant's point of sale system and the card reader hardware to accept payment. RedCard has been in the forefront of the UK's successful early adoption of Chip and PIN. It links with the bank acquirer to obtain authorisation; and it consolidates and manages transactions for settlement before sending to the settling bank. It requires a single connection to the bank rather than a merchant having a separate connection for each EPOS.
RedCard is designed using a service oriented software architecture, which is split into a set of client components and a set of server components.
Today customers run the client in-house with the server running our PCI compliant managed service.
In addition to 'static' environments, RedCard is also offered for developers of 'Cloud' applications through RedCloud.
RedCard runs:
- In card present environments such as EPOS, Box office and mobile POS
- In-house or as a managed service
- Card not present transactions such as MOTO and e-commerce with 3-D Secure
- For merchants trading on land, sea and air cross continents
